“Hark!” cries the goblin watch atop the tower
“Look to the east and see an army drawing near
Hordes of the spider-folk will arrive within the hour
Take up your arms; we shall need every goblin here

“Archers-- man the outer walls
Soldiers-- draw your goblin-swords
Ballistas-- prepare to crush our foe
Riders-- mount your battle-wargs”

“No!” cry the goblin young, watching their parents
Don helmets, swords, and shields to fight the spider horde
Solemnity in the air has become apparent
And families cannot stay together anymore

Cackling-- all the spider-folk
Climbing-- o’er the goblin walls
Legions-- too many to hold back
Screaming-- the goblins fall

Death and anguish, venomous evil
Anthropomorphic arachnids kill
Swarming the hopeless goblin people
Acting out their murderous will

“Please!” cry the goblins, maimed and bleeding out
The spiders laugh and dip their fangs further in
They do not answer what the battle was about
They do not steal-- they simply fought to win

Cackling-- all the spider-folk
Climbing-- o’er the goblin walls
Legions-- no one left to fight
Ruined-- the goblin halls
